Homegrown early education major, Modern Montessori International (MMI) has expanded its regional footprint with the opening of its largest overseas preschool campus in the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) recently.
Situated in the Thuan An district, this new preschool, its first in Vietnam, is located in the increasingly affluent Binh Duong Province close to Ho Chi Minh City.
Inaugurated by Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), S Iswaran, this latest pre-school adds another feather in the cap for MMI’s existing network of more than 100 preschools worldwide including existing schools in the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Said Dr T Chandroo, CEO and Chairman of MMI Group, “We are already planning for an expansion push in Vietnam. And we hope to extend our presence to 58 provinces and five municipalities. Aside from preschools, we are also considering opening up teacher-training and enrichment centres in the future. Other possible areas of expansion include K12 (primary and secondary) education to bring holistic education to Vietnam. Having the largest overseas preschool campus in VSIP beefs up our international curriculum and world-class education model to provide a comprehensive education experience for our students.”
The new preschool campus nestles on a 22,000-sq-ft (2,000-sq-m) plot with an extensive area for outdoor activities. The school, with a staff strength of 25 has started operations on March 1, 2016, with an initial intake of 100 students.
